Fact Files were established to provide briefing for Ministers visiting key cities and nine regions on seven key topic areas. A recent refresh of the Fact Files, led by the Regional Co-ordination Unit means that they now contain maps, satellite images and council information, in addition to local and national statistical information from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) and local intelligence on children and learners, health and well being, crime, transport, social inclusion and regeneration and European funding provided by the Government Office.
The Fact Files are also now hosted on the Government Offices websites which means they can be updated in real time so Ministers and other users have the most relevant and up-to-date information.
This is just the start for new Fact Files, with plans already in place to expand coverage of the City Files from March 2008.
