Economic Delivery Group
REGIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM The Regional Minister is heavily involved at both regional and national level in looking at ways in which the Government can respond to the economic downturn.
She chairs the Regional Economic Forum known in this region as the Yorkshire and Humber Economic Delivery Group (EDG) which is made up of key regional bodies . The EDG will seek to speed up responses to economic, employment, financial and housing challenges in the region.
The Minister is also a member of the Council of Regional Ministers (CRM) and the Regional Economic Council (REC) . The CRM and REC act as a conduit of regional information to the National Economic Council which was set up by the Prime Minister in October 2008 to co-ordinate economic policies across Government.
