The Minister's visit was timed to highlight the Government's New Opportunities White Paper launched this week which set out plans for building fair chances for everyone to succeed and for capturing jobs of the future by investing in people, families, training and employment.
The centre, which was established in September, 2002, provides health, childcare and nursery services for children and their families. It also plays a crucial role in providing advice and guidance to the wider community through links to Jobcentre Plus, neighbouring Rawmarsh School and other local initiatives. These links are helping people to make better decisions about their future employment and training.
She visited the centre with successful Rotherham-based businesswoman Julie Kenny. Julie is recognised regionally and nationally for her commitment to helping young entrepreneurs achieve their potential.
