Regional Minister Rosie Winterton marks a decade of success for Bradford Youthbuild

Published: Mon, 17 Mar 2008 09:48:08

Yorkshire & Humber Regional Minister Rosie Winterton was in Bradford today to help celebrate ten years of success for the ground-breaking YouthBuild project. And the Minister used a keynote address to urge public, voluntary and community sector partners to get more people - especially the young - into jobs.

Ms Winterton was speaking at the National Housing Federation's 'Building on Success - Building Opportunity' event at the National Media Museum to mark the programme's anniversary and to launch a toolkit to help others build similar programmes to YouthBuild.

The Minister, paying her second visit to Bradford in as many weeks, praised the Accent Housing Association which, back in 1997, saw how many of its residents, particularly those from ethnic minorities and the young, were out of work despite regeneration projects in and around the city.
