Published: Mon, 06 Aug 2007 11:33:58

Over £45,000 of Government funding has been awarded to groups across Yorkshire and the Humber who support victims of homophobia, racism and other forms of hate crime and the families and friends of victims of homicide.

The funding from the Home Office has been given to the following organisations in the region:

* West Yorkshire Police/Bradford Hate Alliance

* Kirklees Community Safety Partnership

* South Yorkshire Police

* West Yorkshire Police Witness Support Unit

The money will be used to train volunteers, encourage increased reporting of crimes and help with awareness campaigns. Full details are in the grid below.
