Rural Practitioners Group

The purpose of the Rural Practitioners Group is to bring together into a cohesive forum, those responsible for managing and delivering publicly funded services and investment in the rural areas of Yorkshire and The Humber.

The group's role is to facilitate implementation of the YHRF by co-ordinating improved rural delivery; supporting partners in the development of evidence - based rural outcomes, targets and measures and providing the Rural Board with expert advice, monitoring and evaluation to assist them in their strategic role.

It will ensure that well - defined and accountable roles for rural delivery are understood and that there is better co-ordination of public sector monies coming into rural Yorkshire and The Humber. The  Rural Director of Government Office for Yorkshire and The Humber will chair this group.

Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) 2007-13

As part of the development process for the next Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) Defra has asked each region to produce a Regional Implementation Plan (RIP). This will be used to inform the England Programme Document and to set out how the RDPE will be used in the region. For Yorkshire and The Humber the RIP is being produced by a sub group of the Regional Practitioners Group (RPG). The development of the RIP is an ongoing process and the latest version was submitted to Defra on 20th October 2006. A copy of this document is given below. For further information on the RDPE there is also a link below to the Defra website.
