Yorkshire and The Humber Rural Affairs Forum

For the Yorkshire and Humber Rural Affairs Forum independent website, which was launched in April 2007, please see the link below.

The Yorkshire and The Humber Rural Affairs Forum brings together a wide range of rural stakeholders to inform and monitor the regional and local delivery of policy and act as a conduit for regional views on national proposals affecting rural areas. Through its diverse sectoral membership it has a vital role in bringing together stakeholders, key partners and organisations.

In 2006 the Y&H RAF was enlarged (membership initially doubled in size) in order to take into account the need to establish greater customer linkages. A smaller management body (the RAF steering Group) comprised of individuals appointed for their experience, skills and professional standing will develop and take forward the detailed work of the Y & H  RAF.

There will be at least twice yearly meetings of the full Forum and these will be organised on a thematic basis to coincide(where possible) with RAF chair`s meetings with ministers. There will be more formalised administrative arrangements, including clearer roles and responsibilities, improved communications and budgeting, through a Steering Group- led Secretariat and a skills bank of members` areas of expertise to facilitate more productive cross-representation.

The first formal meeting of the enlarged Y&H RAF was held at Askham Bryan College, Nr York on Wednesday July 5th 2006. Papers, presentations and minutes from this meeting are posted below.

The next meeting was held on Tuesday 7th November at the Pavilions of Harrogate. Papers and presentation in the folder below.

The most recent meeting was  held on Thursday 26 April 2007 at the Regen Centre, Riccall. For minutes and papers of that meeting, please refer to the independent website which is listed below.
