The Programme Directorate is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Programme and is accountable to the Programme Monitoring Committee (PMC) which has ultimate overall responsibility for the Programme.
A Performance Management Board (PMB) monitored the operational aspects of the Programme Directorate's work until November 2006. At that point PMB was wound up. Any residual issues are being monitored by the South Yorkshire Programme Board.

£10.6million (2% of the available EU Structural Funds) has been allocated to the technical assistance budget. The management of the Objective 1 Programme Directorate is paid from the technical assistance budget and includes salaries, accommodation, and the costs involved in appraisals, monitoring, evaluation and publicity.
