In Yorkshire & Humber the Government Office is supporting National Strategies on Behaviour and Attendance by strengthening network arrangements and strategic policy links across other agendas such as parenting and extended schools.
Regional Advisers work with schools and local authorities to focus support on schools with particular issues around persistent absence, as well as piloting anti-bullying initiatives.
GOYH also works closely with DCSF to address changes in legislation, such as facilitating the regional policy rollout in support of the new statutory duty to provide full time education from the 6th day of permanent or fixed period exclusion.
