ContactPoint

ContactPoint, previously known by the working title of the 'information sharing index' will be the quick way to find out who else is working with the same child or young person, making it easier to deliver more coordinated support. This basic online directory will be available to authorised staff who need it to do their jobs. It is a key part of the Every Child Matters programme to improve outcomes for children.

ContactPoint will hold a small amount of core demographic data on every child in England and contact details for practitioners providing services to the child.

In Yorkshire and The Humber, Local Authorities have been supported through a consultant to deliver against the Local Authority Readiness Assessment (LARA). They are underway with their readiness assessment which will enable both the consultant and GOYH to identify support needs for forthcoming network events and Children’s Services Advisor conversations.

ContactPoint Implementation Co-ordinators meet as a network on a bi-monthly basis.  Regular briefing reports are produced by GOYH to feed stakeholders with regional progress.  Implementation Co-ordinators will have the opportunity for discussion and problem solving.
