CDRP Be Brave As A Lion York
CDRP Be Brave As A Lion York
A publicity campaign encouraging members of the public to volunteer information on criminal activity, ran by Safer York, gave a major ‘roar’ to efforts to reduce anti-social behaviour.
During the launch event partnership representatives and Community Beat Officers wore hired lion outfits to distribute leaflets and gave out free Lion bars to members of the public in the city centre and out of town shopping centres.
Leaflets were also sent out to households in high disorder areas and the ‘Be Brave Be a Lion’ concept has been used extensively in the local media. The logo was added to cards and distributed to every household with the ward newsletter. A screen advert appeared during a four-week period at the local cinema and a separate advert was placed in the cinema magazine.
