- On arriving at Birmingham New Street Station, proceed to the main
concourse for the escalator and stairs to the Pallasades shopping area
above the station.
- At the top of the escalators, turn left and proceed towards the
exit of the Pallasades. Exit the Pallasades using the pedestrian ramp and
continue into Corporation Street, keeping to the left hand pedsetrian
footpath (opposite New Look, Mothercare and JJB) and continue as far as the
House of Fraser (formerly Rackhams).
- At the corner of Corporation Street with the pedestrianised Cherry
Street, turn left towards the Cathedral Church of St Philip's, keeping the
House of Fraser department store to your right.
- After a short walk you will arrive at Temple Row with the Cathedral and
its grounds before you. The distinctive light coloured facia of the
Government Office for the West Midlands is visible to the far right of the
grounds. Follow the footpath around the graveyard until you reach the
stepped entrance of the office.
The Government Office for the West Midlands is also about a
minutes' walk from Birmingham Snow Hill Station.
- On arriving at Birmingham Snow Hill Station, proceed to the main
entrance on Colmore Row. Cross over Colmore Row using the pedestrian
crossing. The side view of the Government Office is opposite. Follow the
shop fronts to the right, turning immediately left at the corner.
