Real Help for Communities: Volunteers, Charities and Social Enterprises.

Published: Wed, 11 Feb 2009 16:33:45

On 9 February, the Prime Minister announced Real Help for Communities, a new plan to support the work of the 3rd Sector.

Following extensive discussions, the Government published its plan to provide real support worth up to £42.5 million for the work of Voluntary, Charitable and Social Enterprise organisations.  The plan builds on the extensive support provided to the 3rd Sector in recent years and responds to the urgent need to provide additional support to the sector during the economic downturn.

Over the coming months the Government will work with national and regional organisations in order to focus on the areas most in need.
