A strategy for promoting an integrated approach to the management of coastal areas in England has been published.

Published: Tue, 13 Jan 2009 10:18:28

The Minister for the Natural and Marine Environment, Wildlife and Rural Affairs, Huw Irranca-Davies MP said “This strategy highlights progress across Government, especially through the Marine and Coastal Access Bill, to build a joined-up approach to coastal management into our national policy development and delivery.

This work will contribute towards a co-ordinated approach to managing our coasts, helping local coastal managers work with local people to meet local needs in a holistic way. The strategy also gives examples of local good practice – we will promote and support local initiatives as much as we can.”
