South West Science & Industry Council seeks new members

The South West Regional Development Agency is seeking to appoint new members to the South West Science & Industry Council (SWSIC).

SWISC was established to ensure that the strength of the scientific, technical and commercial sectors of the South West come together to drive the economy of the region. It purpose is to raise the Gross Value Added of industry and business in the region through more effective use of science and technology.

 

The Council advises SWRDA on its strategy for science and innovation, its major investments in this area, and informs the work of the national Technology Strategy Board.

 

Applications are particularly sought from the following industries: Aerospace and Defence, Creative Industries, Business Services and Environmental and Sustainable Technologies. There is also an opportunity for one further member from the HE sector.

 

The closing date for applications is 1 December 2008.
