The People's £50m Lottery Giveaway

Published: Fri, 07 Dec 2007 12:55:51

The Eden Project is in the running for £50m Big Lottery Fund award.

The Big Lottery Fund's 'The People's £50m Lottery Giveaway' is underway - a one-off award of £50m will be chosen by public vote. Cornwall’s Eden Project’s: The Edge, is one of four projects in the running for the award along with the Black Country Urban Park, Sherwood Forest’s The Living Legend, and Sustrans' Connect2.

The contest is screened on ITV and you can vote for your favourite project online or by telephone – please see the link below for details. Phone lines and online voting will close at 12 noon on Monday 10 December, and the winner will be announced on 12 December.

The Edge project represents an evolution of the Eden Project. A new building and exhibitions will explore how people previously coped with transformative change, how people live on ‘the edge’ today, and the solutions they have come up with to re-invent their lives. Communities will be able to share ideas for improving their lives and the environment.
