The end of this month also sees the deadline for facilities in the region to apply to host pre-Games training camps. January 31 is the cut-off day for applications. The massive interest in hosting training camps ties in with the region’s overall backing for 2012.
Research by the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) shows that respondents in Wales and the West of England has the highest support for the Games in the country, giving 87 per cent backing to the competition.
