Additionally overall SW performance on apprenticeships is very strong:
- This year (09/10) in the SW there has been a 9% increase in 16-18 yr
old apprenticeships compared to a 2.5% increase nationally;
- For 19-24 yr old apprenticeships numbers have increased by 30% compared
to a 15% increase nationally;
- Overall the SW is performing well above the national average.
GOSW has have identified that the majority of the
Regions LAs have a strategy in place to increase the numbers of
apprenticeships employed and making good early progress. Where issues
exist GOSW has developed a partnership approach with NAS to improve
performance.
