New Regional Minister visits South West

Published: Fri, 19 Jun 2009 15:28:44

Jim Knight MP visited the region on 18 June in his first official visit as Regional Minister for the South West.

The Minister, accompanied by Linda Gilroy, MP for Plymouth Sutton, visited Government Office for the South West (GOSW), and held meetings with Jon Bright, Regional Director of GOSW and Jane Henderson, Chief Executive of SWRDA.

During the day, the Minister and Linda Gilroy MP spent time with some of Bristol’s digital arts and media organisations at Pervasive Media Studios to discuss the Government’s Digital Britain Report, published earlier in the week.

Later, they travelled to Exeter to visit the Met office to discuss the implications of climate change for the region, following the launch of the UK Climate Projections 2009.
