Young People 14-19

GOSW has a number of key responsibilities in terms of improving outcomes for children and young people.

For young people aged 14-19 this includes:

• developing the Youth Matters agenda across the region, including developments around:

- Things to do and places to go
- Making a contribution and getting involved
- Information, advice and guidance
- Targeted support for teenagers at risk

• working with local authorities, schools and their partners to identify challenges and develop solutions

• sharing good practice amongst key partners

• supporting local authorities in working towards their PSA targets for all young people aged 14-19, particularly those living in poverty, promoting both prevention and early action

• analysing data about local needs and performance to inform developments, identify and manage risk and improve service delivery

• sharing good practice within local authorities and schools and their partners

• contributing to evidence based, bottom-up policy development.
