Children's Services Advisors

At the heart of the 'Every Child Matters: Change for Children' programme is the role of Children’s Services Advisers (CSAs). Their remit it is to support the effective local delivery of the children’s services agenda and to improve outcomes for all children and young people.

There are four appointed CSAs for the South West region. They are based in GOSW and work to Peter Cloke, Director of Children and Learners. They will each work closely with Local Authorities, Strategic Health Authorities and Primary Care Trusts to ensure that local areas are best placed to deliver integrated children’s services against key national and local priorities around education, health and social care.

They are looking forward to the challenges the CSA role will bring, driven by the vision of “every young person benefiting from the conditions and opportunities that offer them real choices in life”. In doing so, the CSAs aim to “add value to the work of local authorities and their partners in every way possible”.

Contact details for the CSAs can be found in the Guide to GOSW (linked below) under Children and Young People.
