The Government is committed to delivering the twin agendas of reducing crime (which includes fear of crime and anti-social behaviour) and in reducing the harm that illicit drugs cause. Local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships, Drug Action Teams and newly-integrated crime and drug partnerships are at the forefront of this work.
We ensure that partnerships have access to:
- Financial support through direct allocations of Home Office funding and other sources
- information via newsletters websites and briefing documents
- training and networking opportunities, conferences and seminars
- support to manage and monitor progress against agreed targets
- support to assist partnerships to be effective, inclusive and to continuously improve their performance.
The Safer and Stronger Communities Fund (SSCF) brings together a number of funding streams from the Home Office and the Department for Communities and Local Government into one single pot, giving South West partnerships greater independence in where the money is targeted. The fund will improve community cohesion and quality of life for residents, particularly for people living in disadvantages areas.
