Targeting crime and drugs: The Funding Project

The Funding Project is an online funding management and problem-solving tool developed by GOSW in consultation with the Crime and Drug Partnerships across the region. They use it to plan the funding for the actions they intend to take to help improve the lives of people in their local areas over the coming 12 months.

By measuring crime and drug priorities against the funding available The Funding Project enables the partnerships to assess where taxpayer’s money needs to be spent to tackle the real issues faced by the community. This targeted approach means that only projects and initiatives which directly address those crime and drug problems win funding approval.

While The Funding Project was prepared principally for the 45 crime and drug partnerships and 21 Police Basic Command Units in the region, it can be accessed and used by everyone involved in the crime and drugs reduction arena.
