The European Union supports poorer regions of Member States by providing funds to help them regenerate their economies and create new jobs. The four most important funding programmes are known collectively as ‘Structural Funds’.

The programmes seek to encourage and develop the South West through the following priorities:
- Addressing Worklessness and improving Workforce Skills
- Innovation and Knowledge
- Enterprise and Growth
- Urban Enterprise
They will continue to build on the investments made since 2000 by the Objectives 1, 2 and 3 Programmes in the South West.
The new 2007-2013 Programmes will not be administered by the Government Office for the South West, however we will remain as the Managing Authority. Organisations seeking funding under the new Programmes may wish to approach the relevant organisations using the internet links below.
