The national awareness week, sponsored by National Grid, represents an opportunity to celebrate the work carried out by more than 22 million people across the UK who give their time freely to a huge range of causes and activities. The week also encourages people new to volunteering to get involved.
Thirty volunteer-involving organizations have joined forces with Volunteering England as partners to help challenge the perception of volunteering and its place in society by highlighting 25 areas of volunteering ranging from health, international development and arts to youth programmes, employee volunteering and sport.
