Government launches the Migration Impacts Fund

Published: Tue, 24 Mar 2009 08:39:06

On 19 March 2009, the Government formally launched the Migration Impacts Fund (MIF) - a two year facility financed by increased migration fees, available to all local service providers, regional and sub-regional bodies, for the purpose of managing the short term pressures that migration can place on local public services.

The South East's share of the Fund is £3.26m in 2009-10 and, subject to a review in the autumn of the economic position and level of migrants fees received, a similar amount in 2010-11.

The attached MIF guidance provides information on how partners across the South East can access the Fund.
