South East Equalities Network (SEEN): Business Case up for Consultation

Published: Thu, 25 Sep 2008 00:00:00

In August 2007 RAISE formed the Equality and Diversity Advisory Group. This group comprises over 20 different agencies and organisations; from both the Third Sector and from regional agencies.

The Advisory Group has produced a Business Case which is the result of their time, contribution and commitment. The Group was set up with the express purpose of looking at the value and viability of having a Regional Third Sector Equality Network. Although we list the beneficiaries as Third Sector, we anticipate enormous benefits to statutory bodies, including:

  • the Regional Development Agency
  • Government Offices, and
  • the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

The ultimate purpose of this document is to set out a clear proposal regarding equality, diversity and human rights in a transparent way that may lead to a significant and sustainable benefit to the Third Sector in the region.

The consultation opens on 15 September 2008 and will run for three months.

In order to capture interest and overall support for the Business case of SEEN, we have developed this brief online survey. Please feel free to respond on behalf of different organisations with whom you may be involved, or alternatively you can also respond as an individual who is not representing an organisation or group.

For further information, please contact Sacha Rose or visit the RAISE website.
