Vacancies on the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) Board

Published: Mon, 02 Jun 2008 09:09:14

An exciting opportunity to contribute to growing your region’s prosperity.

We are looking for people who are committed to, and enthusiastic about, the economic development and regeneration of their region. You will be part of a team of 15 Board members, who will each have a strong track record of achievement in their sectors. The Board will be responsible for directing SEEDA in delivering Government policy to strengthen and grow regional economies.

SEEDA is a business led organisation. Their role will shortly be broadened by gaining the responsibility for drawing up the Single Integrated Regional Strategy, bringing together sustainable economic development and regeneration, spatial planning, housing, transport and climate change action. They are to become the Regional Planning Body.

Board members will therefore be instrumental in managing and driving forward significant change, in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, and particularly with local authorities, to meet these demanding challenges.  This requires a commitment of a minimum of two days a month for an initial period of three years.

During 2008 SEEDA will have vacancies for 2 business positions and 2 local authority councillors.

For further information and to apply please visit the RDA's website. We encourage all applicants to apply via this process.  If you do not have access to the internet please telephone 01256 383745 for an application pack.  An advert will also be published in The Times on Tuesday 3 and 10 June, and The Sunday Times on 8 June.
Closing date: 26 June 2008.
