The Children and Learners and Surrey and Sussex Directorate in GOSE plays
an important role in making a reality of the vision set out in
The Children’s
Plan and in the delivery of the wider Department for Children,
Schools and Families (DCSF) agenda.
We work at the regional level helping to join up local authorities,
partners and agendas. We also provide leadership, raise ambitions and give
responsive and tailored support where required, in line with DCSF’s
expectations.
Our Business Plan for 2009-10 aims to capture our activities in the region.
It paints a picture of how children and young people are doing in the South
East, what our key regional priorities are and how we will go about
achieving this as part of our regional working arrangements.
Our Plan also identifies how we will help contribute to national policy
development based on our local and regional experience. These are
challenging times for the children and learners sector, and our aim as
described in our plan is to add value to LA's and partners' work, and
help make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and
families in the South East.
