The Regional Research and Analysis Programme (RRAP) is
part of the Home Office Research Development and Statistics Crime and
Policing Group's Research and Analysis Unit. Researchers from this
programme have a presence in all Government Offices in England and in the
Welsh Assembly Government.
The South East Regional Research and Analysis team is
part of the South East, East and London (SEEL) cluster.
The Regional Research and Analysis Programme has four
main strands of work:

Supporting performance
monitoring
of Home Office
Public Service Agreements (PSA 23 Making Communities Safer and PSA 25
Reduce the Harm Caused by Alcohol and Drugs) and Local Area
Agreements.

Building analytical capacity
work focuses on supporting the professional development of researchers
and analysts in teh region. Examples include the provision of
training, an analysts' network and a quarterly newsletter.

Research and evaluation
work includes commissioning, undertaking and promoting the use of
social research within the region and nationally.

Briefing and advice
work
includes contributing to briefings and advising Home Office and
Government Office colleagues with a view to informing regional and
national decision making.
