Regional Development Agency Board Vacancies

Published: Tue, 26 May 2009 13:47:25

Welcome from the Secretary of State, Lord Mandelson

I am delighted that you are considering applying for a Board member position on one of the Regional Development Agencies (RDAs).

This year we will be advertising 19 Non Executive Board vacancies across six of the RDAs, from the 7 June 2009.

This is a critical time for the RDAs who are playing a crucial role in this exceptional economic downturn and, in future, will be absolutely vital in delivering our industrial activism agenda. This will be built on precise regional knowledge of what is needed in terms of infrastructure and, investment and training. Driving a jobs and growth agenda with regional partners, regeneration and infrastructure bodies and importantly local authorities. And working closely with other lead agencies to drive forward agreed regional action to equip the region for long term success by developing and maintaining a high skilled and flexible labour market.

The RDAs are directly responsible in delivering their goals to me at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and I take a keen interest in what they do.

If you have what it takes to make an impact as an RDA Board member, can demonstrate a substantial track record of successful delivery and  achievement gained in any of the advertised positions, and are committed to, and enthusiastic about, the economic development and regeneration of your region, then we would very much like to hear from you.

Good luck!

Peter Mandelson
