Regional minister Beverley Hughes launches new North West web site to help businesses and families

Published: Wed, 22 Apr 2009 12:04:22

A new web site has been launched by Minister for the North West Beverley Hughes offering help and advice for families and businesses in the region affected by the economic downturn.

Support North West - http://www.supportnw.co.uk - has been created by the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) for the North West, which was set up by the Minister to help fight the North West's corner during the current difficult economic climate and to ensure the region emerges stronger than before.

The web site provides a wealth of easily accessible advice tailored specifically for a North West audience and sets out where to find it.

Minister for the North West Beverley Hughes said:

"The Support North West web site has been set up to help businesses and families during these difficult economic times. The web site clearly sets out what help is available and how to access it.

"A range of advice and support is being made available for people who need it, from homeowners with difficulties paying their mortgages to people seeking employment or training. Action is being taken to boost our economy by putting money in people's pockets and bringing investment plans forward.

"For business there is a range of free support to find finance, raise productivity, or save money by reducing waste and saving energy.
Whether you need to increase cash flow, keep your staff on, improve their skills and flexibility, or simply reduce costs, you can get help and support to keep your business fighting fit.

"The web site also provides in depth information about the work the JEC is doing to co-ordinate the regional response to the economic downturn and we hope it will broaden awareness of its work and its achievements.

"It is designed to be a dynamic Web site that features the latest news about regional initiatives and economic, as well as links to useful publications and support events.
