LAA News

The LAAs in the North West signal the ambition that Places have to improve performance, build capacity and strengthen relationships. The ‘jumping off point’ for the 22 LAAs is generally strong; the new-style LAAs will offer a real opportunity to develop further.

Many of our current LAA’s have been utilised as a vehicle to catalyse and drive change. With the development of Sustainable Community Strategies the authorities of the Community are likely to be more strongly embedded in this round. Progess against targets has generally been good.

With the likelihood of fewer mandatory indicators in this round there is the opportunity to focus on developing themes within the LAAs such as Narrowing the Gap, Strengthening Partnerships and Driving Change. There should be a greater emphasis on outcomes that are important to individual Places and Communities.
