Communities and Local Government's Sustainable Communities Plan will affect every region of England, providing homes for key workers, regenerating towns and cities and providing parks for families and children. Above all, the plan is about helping people to live where they want to and having pride in their community.

We work across organisations to enable partners to become engaged with the Sustainable Communities Plan, ensure good practice is recognised and exchanged, and lead on presentation and communication of Sustainable Communities Plan issues. We work to deliver the Sustainable Communities Plan including cross-cutting issues such as housing, liveability, rural communities and countryside issues, transport and education.
Our work also involves contributing to the implementation and promotion of housing policy relating to the provision of decent homes and a good quality of life in sustainable communities. We assist partners in assessing and restructuring housing markets, appraise and assess options for the management of housing stock, reorganise the ways that housing services are provided and renew or replace as much of the region's outdated housing as possible.
