Millennium Volunteers

The Millennium Volunteers (MV) programme was launched in 1999 to encourage voluntary activity from young people aged 16-24 who had not previously considered getting involved. It embodied the idea of an active community with people from all walks of life coming together to make their communities better places to live and work.

Responsibility for the Management of Millennium Volunteers passed from the Government Office to V (a charity promoting all youth volunteering) from 1st April 2007. More information on the national picture

The Millennium Volunteers programme closed on 31 March 2008 and young volunteers can now access v’s new national youth volunteering programme, vinvolved. If you are interested in getting involved you can search for volunteering opportunities in your local area via the v website at www.vinspired.com.
