Regional Minister helps launch new Regional Economic framework

Regional Minister Beverley Hughes MP helped launch the Regional Economic framework at the North West Economic Conference in Liverpool. The launch was part of a full day visit by Prime Minister Gordon Brown MP and Treasury Ministers the Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP and the Rt Hon Jane Kennedy MP to Merseyside.

This document was drawn up by the Government and the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) for discussion with business, local government, housing groups, community and the third sector. It sets out how the North West economy has changed in recent years and the main challenges and opportunities it faces in the time ahead and the Government and NWDA's response. See news for more details.
