This work will take place from 2000 on Tuesday 16 December to 0600 Thursday 18 December. During this period the traffic lights will need to be switched off completely and traffic will be required to observe normal give way convention at the roundabout.
Highways Agency project manager John Sheerin said "This is a key roundabout with heavy traffic flows, particularly at peak times. The new traffic lights automatically adjust signal timings to regulate and maximise traffic flows through the junction.
"The only way of upgrading to the new MOVA system is to disconnect the power to the traffic lights. In order to warn motorists we will be placing signals not in use signs on the approaches to the roundabout and temporary give way signs at the roundabout.
"Drivers should take care and follow the roadmarkings on the roundabout as they will allow drivers to negotiate the roundabout safely."
