Region's businesses can focus on technology for international opportunities

Published: Tue, 18 Nov 2008 08:13:00

Technology will be the focus for the next meeting of the North East International Networking Club (INC).

The meeting will be held at Hardwick Hall, Sedgefield, on Tuesday 25 November, 1600-1900, and will be open to any North East business, as well as those who are members of the INC.

To find out more about the International Networking Club or the wide range of services available through UK Trade and Investment contact the North East Regional International Trade Hotline on 0845 05 05 054 or email enquiries@ukti.rito.co.uk

Dr Alan Bell, Chairman of the International Networking Club, said "The North East is already proving itself to be a world leader in the technology sector with many of the region's companies successfully exporting a wide range of products and services across the globe.

"Our latest event provides an ideal opportunity to explore the potential in overseas markets for companies involved in this sector and for them to find out more about the support available to help them succeed.

"We will also be looking at research and development – how overseas partners are vital when selling such products and services and the support available through the RTC North/UK Trade and Investment Research and Development programme."

Key speakers at the event will include:

  • Jeff Sanders, one of UK Trade and Investment's International Trade Advisors who will talk about what is a technical product or service and how to use technology to sell overseas
  • Sandra Innes, RTC North, who will discuss the important of using an overseas partner when selling research and development products and services and the support available for the region's companies.

Representatives from several companies in the technology sector will also be on hand to talk about their own experiences and offer advice on how to make the most of overseas opportunities.
