Invitation to explore business opportunities in Brazil

Published: Fri, 22 Aug 2008 12:09:23

UK Trade and Investment are offering North East firms insight and opportunities the Brazilian export market offers at a special free event.

The event will take place at Dance City, Temple Street, Newcastle, on Tuesday, 23 September, 9.30am-1pm. Places are limited and must be booked in advance. To book your place or to find out more about the wide range of services available through UK Trade and Investment contact the North East Regional International Trade Hotline on 0845 05 05 054 or email enquiries@ukti.rito.co.uk

Jeff Sanders, one of UK Trade and Investment's International Trade Advisors, who will chair the event, said "Brazil is a rapidly growing market and is already the tenth largest in the world. It boasts a population of more than 200 million, with most people living in the major cities, and the business culture is very much like the Mediterranean-European style.

"It has a fast-growing industrial base and recent growth in the middle class economy has fuelled demand for all kinds of consumer goods and services so there has never been a better time to look at this market.

"And our event offers an ideal chance to find out about the opportunities and delegates will be encouraged to take part in our workshops, considering a variety of 'real-life' examples of working with this market."

Key speakers at the event will include:

  • Simon Ricci, UK Trade and Investment's Commercial Officer at the British Consulate in Sao Paulo, who will offer an insight into business in Brazil
  • Kate Gordon, of Internship Solutions, who will talk about "How I did it".
