The latest events will be on Tyneside as follows: Wednesday, 21 January - The Customs House, South Shields - 8-10.30am. Thursday, 22 January - HSBC, Team Valley Trading Estate - 8-10.30am.
Three of UK Trade & Investment's dedicated team of International Trade Advisers, Ron Seymour, Bob Beresford and Craig Daglish have put together the programme for the events and will be on hand to explain the wide range of support services available to help companies involved in international trade.
Representatives from HSBC will help delegates learn the importance and methods of getting paid and there will be first-hand accounts from local companies who have already become successful exporters.
Ron Seymour explained:
"Despite the credit crunch the North East's export performance remains strong with more than £11.5 billion worth of goods and services exported in the last year. And yet only a relatively small percentage of the region's companies are exporters.
"So while the credit crunch may mean we have to tighten our belts it should not deter companies from exploring overseas opportunities. By broadening their horizons companies can benefit not just from bringing in new business but it also spreads the risks.
"Our free seminars offer a chance to find out about the many benefits of international trade and the wide range of support available through UK Trade & Investment and its partners to help companies succeed."
The events are free but the number of places is limited. For more information or to book a place contact the North East International Trade Hotline on 0845 05 05 054 or email enquiries@ukti.rito.co.uk
