Published: Fri, 18 Jan 2008 00:00:00
Latest figures reveal that crime in London is continuing to fall with a clear reduction in knife crime, robbery, and hate crime. Overall crime has fallen for the fifth consecutive year and is now at the lowest level for nine years. The percentage of crimes resulting in the offenders being charged, cautioned or receiving another penalty has also risen with the `sanctioned detection` rate now reaching Metropolitan Police Authority target of 24% (compared to 20.5% last year).
