Assistance for First Time Buyers

Published: Thu, 30 Mar 2006 01:00:00
On 28 March ODPM announced details of the new “Homebuy Agents’ who from 1 April will provide a one stop shop to give first time buyers clear advice on how they could be helped by the new Homebuy scheme by buying a part share in properties with the rest of the costs met by lenders and registered social landlords. In London there are five zones covered by two Homebuy Agents, Metropolitan and Tower Homes. ODPM also announced the new Shared Equity Taskforce, drawing together the public and private sectors to identify the longer term potential to roll out further shared equity products to help people get a first step on the housing ladder.
