'Skills for Growth' Strategy launched

Published: Mon, 30 Nov 2009 10:54:50

The Government published its new national strategy for skills on 11 November.

The strategy presents an ambitious set of policy responses to equip people with the skills needed to secure economic growth. One of they key themes is an increased focus on remedying Britain’s long standing weakness in intermediate skills, including creating a modern technician class.  There are also important statements about employer influence over the content of learning, new skills accounts to put purchasing power in the hands of individual learners, developing apprenticeships and simplifying the skills system.
