Get involved with Total Place

Published: Mon, 30 Nov 2009 10:53:48

‘Total Place’ is an ambitious and challenging programme launched as a result of Sir Michael Bichard’s recommendations in the Treasury Operational Efficiency Programme.

In bringing together elements of central government and local agencies within a place, the programme aims to achieve three things:

  1. To create service transformations that can improve the experience of
local residents and deliver better value
  2. To deliver early efficiencies to validate the work
  3. To develop a body of knowledge about how more effective cross agency working delivers the above

In London there are two pilot areas participating in the scheme: Croydon and Lewisham.

GOL is working in conjunction with the pilots and with other areas to identify public service challenges that have a high impact on efficiency and make a real difference to the lives of local people.
