GOL Hosts Fourth Annual London Reception

“Delivering regeneration in our city is inevitably complex but when we all work together we can help make local people's vision of sustainable communities a reality. I congratulate everyone for playing their parts so willingly, and whole heartedly contributing to making London a better place for everyone.”

Keith Hill said when he hosted the fourth annual London Reception at Riverwalk House in February 2005.

This annual event provides an opportunity for the Minister to meet with key stakeholders in less formal circumstances.

Guests were wide-ranging representing a cross section of organisations including local authorities, New Deal for Communities, Local Strategic Partnerships, Connexions Partnerships, Voluntary and Community groups, London’s business community and the Greater London Authority. Notable attendees included Minister for Transport Tony McNulty MP, Martin Pilgrim of the Association of London Government, Deputy Mayor of London Nicky Gavron and the leaders of several London Boroughs.

Following an introduction from GOL Regional director Liz Meek, Keith Hill delivered a well received speech.

Keith Hill went on to praise GOL’s role in the London Olympic Bid:

“I would like to thank those at Government Office for London who helped deliver viable Olympic transport plans and who worked with four London boroughs to deliver the planning decisions on the Olympic site in record time”.
