The second ‘Headteacher Breakfast Event: Sustainable Schools’
once again aimed to enable London Headteachers to hear about and discuss
the latest research and priorities relating to sustainable schools, and the
link to whole school improvement. Key speakers included the Parliamentary
Under Secretary of State for Schools Diana Johnson MP, Leszek Iwaskow HMI,
National Advisor for Geography, Headteacher Bill Jerman, and Ian Birnbaum,
Strategic Director of Children, Young People and Learning Services, London
Borough of Sutton and Sustainability Champion, Association of London
Directors of Children’s Services (ALDCS).

Headteacher Breakfast Event: Sustainable Schools, 2008
The first London Sustainable Schools Forum Headteacher Breakfast event took
place on Wednesday 19th November 2008, at Government Office for London. The
morning, specifically aimed at London Headteachers, offered delegates the
opportunity to hear about and discuss the latest research and priorities
relating to sustainable schools, and the link to whole school improvement.
Headteachers heard directly from key speakers, including Parliamentary
Under-Secretary of State for Schools and Learners, Sarah McCarthy-Fry MP,
Leszek Iwaskow HMI and Alan Wood, Chair of the London Association of
Directors of Children's services. 100% of delegates said the morning had
encouraged them to take the agenda forwards in their schools.
