Over the last two years the partnership has been working towards ensuring that London meets its own renewable energy target. In particular, London Renewables has been tackling barriers associated with the uptake of renewable energy through the planning system and carrying out training and awareness raising activity. The work of London Renewables includes:
- The report: Attitudes to Renewable Energy in London: Public and Stakeholder Opinion and the Scope for Progress.
- Integrating Renewable Energy into New Developments: Toolkit for Planners, Developers and Consultants.
- The study: 'Skills and Jobs from Renewable Energy, Policies and Targets'.
- Training Package and Training Materials: for planners and developers; councillors; housing associations; architects and construction industry; and estate agents with a summary documents for each audience.
- Communication and Awareness Raising Strategies.
London Renewables is now looking to its future work programme, which it is taking forward under the auspices of the Mayor’s London Energy Partnership.
