Teenage Pregnancy

The London Teenage Pregnancy Team supports local authorities and Primary Care Trusts with the delivery of their local Teenage Pregnancy Strategy. Nationally there are targets to halve the number of under-18 conceptions and to ensure that 60% of teenage parents are engaged in education, training and employment by 2010.

Each local authority area has a teenage pregnancy co-ordinator who leads on the delivery of the local teenage pregnancy strategy.  It is their job, and that of the local Teenage Pregnancy Partnership Board, to ensure delivery of the local teenage pregnancy action plan.  This web page has been put together with input from local co-ordinators to support them in their role.

The aim of the page is to provide information about who is doing what to address common key themes and topics.  The page will be regularly updated with examples of promising practice being developed in local areas, documents generated by the regional programme of teenage pregnancy seminars, and contact details of local co-ordinators.  A discussion board will be added at a later date, technology permitting.
