Involving Children and Young People

The Young Londoners Network

To ensure that Children & Young People’s opinions are represented in government, both locally and regionally, GOL and the Greater London Authority are currently putting in place a Young Londoners Network in which Children & Young People can be consulted and involved on the issues that affect them as London residents.

The  Network was officially launched on the 26 November 2005.

The key objectives of the Young Londoner’s Network are:

  • To publicise consultation activities and opportunities for Young Londoners to become actively involved in their city to children, young people and those who work with them.
  • To organise key annual events for Young Londoners to highlight their issues, question the Mayor of London and other key London decision makers and showcase the positive contribution that they are making across the city.
  • To provide a recognised network to improve co-ordination of consultation with Young Londoners across London government.
  • To have an active steering group of children and young people.
  • To have a membership open to any organisation or project that is working locally in London or across London to support and promote children and young people’s active involvement in London life and individual under 18 year olds (with parental consent).
