Change for Children

Given the vast increase in the number of policy developments around children and young people (CYP), we have developed a regional strategy to take forward our work in supporting the Department for Education and Skills and its regional partners to implement this important agenda.

A number of recent policy developments around children and young people have significantly shaped the Government Office role in this important area of work. More information on the national picture

In response to Every Child Matters: Change for Children, Government Office for London has formed the London Children & Young People’s Team. The team will work towards three main objectives:

  • To promote the needs of children and young people within GOL, ensuring the coordination of GOL sponsored services and programmes that contain a child or young person focus.
  • To ensure that London children and young people’s issues are integrated into Central Government policies.
  • To work in conjunction with key pan London stakeholders (for example the GLA, LGA, ALG) to promote and influence policy, strategy and service delivery affecting London’s children and young people.
